John F. Kennedy School

JFK Principal's Office

By Gina Herrmann

Dear John F. Kennedy School Families,

Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! I am honored to be the principal of such an extraordinary institution! I have been a member of the wonderful JFK team for the past 15 years and know firsthand what an extraordinary staff and group of students we have at JFK!

It is my pleasure to announce our new staff members as well! In the spring, we were fortunate to acquire Amanda Pellegrini as a new addition to our language arts team. Mrs. Pellegrini student taught in Jane Stoner’s classroom last spring. It is also a privilege to welcome Dustin Schrank.  Mr. Schrank completed his student teaching last spring in Minooka.  Our last new hire is a maintenance position. We are looking forward to working with our new team members!

At JFK, we make every effort to ensure that all students are treated with respect and are in a safe, caring environment. Decisions are based on what is in the best interest of all children.  Our staff works diligently to create a positive learning community based on both instructional and interpersonal skills.

A strong partnership between the home and school leads to greater educational success in children. I encourage all families to actively become involved in their child’s education. Throughout the year, the school provides many family involvement opportunities, and we encourage everyone to participate! A collaborative approach is the best approach!

We are anticipating a year marked with greatness at JFK. We take great pride in a constant search for best education practices by implementing new programs that assist learning. This year will be no exception as we unveil two initiatives. We will begin PBIS and incorporate a 1:1 computer environment this year.  Both of these initiatives have been thoroughly researched and prove to be best practice in education.

I look forward to working with everyone to provide an enjoyable atmosphere for your children. Please feel free to contact me or visit with me at anytime. My door is always open! Together, we can ensure that John F. Kennedy School remains a superb place for education!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Gina Herrmann
Principal
